CYPRUS BEER LEON
LEON beer is a top quality product that is brewed using the very high standards of raw material selection and processing as Carlsberg beer. Two types of the highest quality malts (lager and dark roasted malt) are used for making LEON offering a distinguished malty character to the final product.
HISTORY
LEON was initially produced in 1937 as the first ever Cypriot beer and for more than a decade it remained as the only local brew. In 1967 an agreement was signed with Carlsberg for the production of the brand in Cyprus. This development led to the termination of LEON production in 1968, just a year before the brewing of Carlsberg begun.
Around 40 years later, in June of 2003, Leon beer was re-launched, only to be brewed now in the premises of one of the most advanced breweries in the world. The beer is based on the same initial all malt recipe made just from barley malt, hops and yeast and it is characterized by its honey-golden colour, its fruity like aroma and the rich, strong taste with the pleasant aftertaste.
Within a short period, LEON beer managed to penetrate in the local market, rated high among the tourists and today commands a market share of 6,2% ranking third behind Carlsberg and KEO beers with a production volume of more than 3 million litres

LEON is brewed using German hops of the highest quality, providing a distinctive bitterness and hop’s notes. A unique type of yeast is used that has been developed in co-operation with one of the best laboratories worldwide and involves the mixture of several type of yeast. The selected yeast is exclusively used for LEON and is the key factor for the development of a rich blend of esters which in turn give that extra fruity flavour and aroma to the beer
CYPRUS BEER KRAUZER BRAU
Krauzer Bräu has all the fundamental characteristics of a great beer, offering a full, rich flavor that is both balanced and complex. Copper colored pour with a thick, off white head. Light aroma carries toasty malt to the nose. The toasty sweet malt continues through the flavor with the first sip. Hops are subdued but balanced – the hop bitterness is firm. Spices don’t show up till the end. It finishes nicely with a good spicy whack from the hops then lingering malt sweetness

Cyprus wines
Situated in this idyllic setting and designed to the specifications of experienced winemakers, the Kyperounda Winery is built on three levels in order to take advantage of gravity to move the grape juice in the gentlest possible way. The winery’s underground cellar holds two hundred and fifty 225 lt oak barrels, in which the wine of Kyperounda matures and develops character.
The winery is located at Kyperounda, in the Pitsilia area of the Troodos range, 75 km from Nicosia and 50 km from Limassol. It prides itself for the unusually high altitude (at 1400 metres it is the highest in Europe and one of the highest of the world). It was setup in the late 1990s by a few local grape producers and in the year 2000, Photos Photiades Group joined as a major shareholder. The production capacity of the winery is about 300,000 bottles.

For the ‘’Rose’’ Kyperounda winery has selected two red grapes that complement each other and create a rose wine representative and worthy of the region. The Grenache Rouge grape gives the wine its unique fruity aroma, while Shiraz provides an intense, bright note, rich flavour and an aromatic lingering finish. A crisp rose best served at 10-12°C.

PSILA KLIMATA CABERNET SAUVIGNON
The Cabernet Sauvignon variety provides with a very noble wine, maturing for 12 months in brand new oak barrels from the French woods of Allier and Nevers. With a complex aromatic character and full bodied flavor, this rich wine is not afraid of time since it keeps maturing in the bottle for many years to follow. Its rich character requires strong dishes, such as game, red meat and hard cheeses. Served at 16-18°C.

ALIMOS CHARDONNAY
A classic Chardonnay, fermented and matured in oak barrels, enriched with aromatic complexity, rich taste and the ability to evolve inside the bottle. It is served chilled, at 10-12°C, with white meat, soft cheese, pasta and fish. Although it is ready for consumption, it will keep maturing within the bottle for another 2-3 years to come.

SKOPOS SHIRAZ
A classic wine crafted from the Shiraz grape. It derives its complexity and characteristic aromas from the maturation in new oak barrels. Although it is ready for immediate enjoyment it can be aged for 3-4 years. The recommended serving temperature is between 16 and 18 °C. This wine is at its best when partnered with red meats, dishes prepared with red sauces and hard cheeses.

PETRITIS
An authentic wine from the local variety Xinisteri, that grows on mountainous vineyards. Fresh and aromatic, it combines the rich fruit of this variety with a few elusive oak notes that result from its partial maturing in selected oak barrels. It is perfect for fine flavours, mainly sea food, pasta, white meat and creamy cheese. Best served at 8-10°C.

ANDESITIS
The harmonious union of the French varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Mourvedre brings Andesitis. A wine of deep red colour where the aroma of red fruits and spices blended with oak notes lend it a unique mildly bitter flavour. Although it is ready for immediate consumption, it improves by maturing for another 2-3 years in the bottle. It goes well with red meat, spicy pasta and semi hard cheese. Served at 15-16°C.

COMMANDARIA
Commandaria belongs to the category of dessert wines, but it can also be enjoyed at the beginning of a meal as an aperitif. Commandaria from the Kyperounda Winery is matured in oak barrels of 225 liters. The maturation process is responsible for the development of strong aromas and an amazing flavour balance. It is a wine with a long, aromatic aftertaste and can be accompanied with light desserts and dried fruits. Best served at 6-8 °C.
